NUMBER TWO (2018) “ Just a piece of wood”

I am back with my first solo virtual show! This work was born in Cambridge School of Art in my first-year studio. It now lives in my bedroom securely fixed to the wall, it is quite conservative and does not like to move much.

The Icelanders recommend hugging trees to overcome the Covid 19 blues (BBC News 15.4.2020) and so this work originally inspired by my pencil drawing of a tree surgeon is rather relevant. I gave it a new coat and experimented with a projection of rain and sky images on top of the canvas.
