NUMBER EIGHT (2019) "Back To Where We Started"

My solo virtual show from lockdown continues with an installation consisting of three maps made of plaster, embedded glass shards and neon Perspex. This work is now in my house, right next to my desk, hanging on the window. Before it made it to my house it was exhibited at the Cambridge School of Art accompanied by a glass shard circle stuck directly to the wall. For today's photoshoot, I let it soak up some sunshine.

The three maps are linked to Dr Emily Shuckburgh's dystopian prediction about global warming causing a significant sea-level rise which will eventually affect all the land at or below sea-level. This includes land around Cambridge, specifically the Fenlands and Ely.
